What this does not change
This is the part that matters most. Advertising and affiliate income never influence our editorial content. We do not recommend a wine, a producer, or a tour because it pays a commission, and we do not soften our honest assessment to please an advertiser or affiliate partner. Our recommendations are based on the facts, the wine’s reputation and quality, and what we believe genuinely serves you, the reader. If a wine is ordinary, we will say so, affiliate link or not. Why we disclose
Beyond it being the right thing to do, honest disclosure is expected by advertising and affiliate programs and by regulators such as the US Federal Trade Commission, which requires clear disclosure of paid relationships. We would rather over-communicate this than leave you wondering.
