Independence
The Moroccan Wine Guide is editorially independent. We are not owned by, employed by, or in partnership with any winery, importer, distributor, or tour operator. No producer pays us to review or recommend their wine, and no recommendation on this site has been bought. When we praise a wine or an estate, it is because the facts and its reputation support it, not because of a commercial arrangement.
How we research
Every factual claim is checked against a primary or authoritative source before publication. That means production figures and statistics come from industry reporting and official data, appellation details come from the appellation records, and producer facts (who owns an estate, where its vineyards sit, when it was founded) come from the producers themselves and established wine references. We avoid recycling rounded numbers and repeated claims from other blogs without tracing them to their source.
Our policy on tasting notes
This matters, so we will be blunt. When we describe how a wine smells or tastes, that description is built from the grape variety, the winemaking style, the region, and published tasting notes and critical consensus. We do not invent first-person tasting experiences, fake cellar visits, or claim an editor was somewhere they were not. Where a description is a characterization of a style rather than a specific tasted bottle, we frame it that way. Authentic voice, truthful basis.
Handling uncertainty
Moroccan wine is under-documented compared with the famous regions of Europe, which means some facts are genuinely uncertain or contested, and others change year to year. When that is the case we say so rather than projecting false confidence. You will see us date time-sensitive facts (“as of 2025”), hedge where the evidence is thin, and correct the record when better information appears.
Prices and figures
Prices, tour costs, and production statistics are estimates that drift over time. We give ranges rather than false precision, date them where it matters, and treat them as planning guidance, not guarantees. Always confirm current prices directly with a producer, retailer, or tour operator before you rely on them.
Affiliate links and advertising
To keep the guide free, some pages may carry advertising or affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. Corrections
We would rather be accurate than proud. If you spot an error, an outdated figure, or a claim that does not hold up, please tell us through the contact page and we will investigate and fix it. Correcting mistakes openly is part of earning your trust, not a mark against us.
